Appello SLS Router Reboot
Do not carry out this reset without being instructed to do so by a Sentinel or Appello member of staff.
From time to time, the broadband router on an Appello SLS or SmartConnect system needs rebooting. Symptoms of this may be:
- You are unable to receive or make external calls on your desk phone or DECT phone
- Calls will not go offsite from the warden call system.
Rebooting your Router
You will need to locate the data cabinet for the Appello SLS equipment. This is often located in a plant room in the centre of the building.
- Find the data cabinet and open the door
- Locate the Draytek router. this will be a white box like the example below
- Gently pull the router forward from the cabinet, being careful not to pull the black power cable free from the router.
- On the back of the router next to the power cable, you will find a on/off switch. Switch the router to the off position and leave it for 30 seconds.
- Turn the router back on and place it back on the shelf.
The system will now take up to 5 minutes to regain its connection. You can test that the system has moved back to its primary broadband connection by making a successful phone call out of the building.
If this has not worked, do not turn off any other equipment. Please call Sentinel on 0333 012 4302 for further advice.
